Friday Favorites: January 4, 2013

Happy Friday!  It was so good to get back on schedule this week and back to dance.  I did not think we would get my dancer and her friends to leave the other night after class they were enjoying chatting so much!  I am so looking forward to the new year of dance competitions and conventions.

This Week’s Friday Favorites are…

Favorite Cover Song…

I Knew You Were Trouble by Walk Off The Earth – Our whole family is loving this group – even the seven year old had a download request.  KRNFX joined them for this song – what a talent oh, and the bearded guy is missing.  Not sure why, love him too.  This song is not yet available on iTunes.

Favorite Words…

I saw this on Pinterest this week and loved it.  While it is true for life in general, it is so true for dancers.  The darling 3 year old who spins with reckless abandon in her first dance class does not just develop into a solid dancer without some struggles along the way – leaps, turns, flexibility, the minute details of good technique.  These things take time and dedication to develop.

Favorite Dance Photo…

We shared this on our Facebook Page a while back and I still love it. Can you imagine how beautiful you would feel standing on stage in this? Gorgeous! Photo Credit: Alvin Ailey “Splendid Isolation II” Elizabeth Washington

Favorite Color Palette…
Love these colors to refresh our competition make-up box!

Favorite After The Holidays App…

This probably should say favorite App after eating too many Christmas apps (appetizers).  This time of year people seem to have a renewed interest in eating a little healthier and perhaps shedding some of those after Christmas pounds.  My Fitness Pal allows you to journal the foods you eat each day and track your calorie intake.  You can also input your daily excercises too.  Oh, and it is free!  How great is that?

I hope you’ve had a great week. Join me next Friday for more favorites!
